Singer/songwriter/producer DELANEY BRAMLETT died SATURDAY (DEC 27th) due to complications from gallbladder surgery conducted at UCLA RONALD REAGAN MEDICAL CENTER in LOS ANGELES. He was 69.
The MISSISSIPPI-born BRAMLETT enjoyed a 50-year career, writing classic rock songs such as the ERIC CLAPTON hit "Let it Rain," as well as "Never Ending Song of Love." He worked with ERIC CLAPTON, JIMI HENDRIX, JANIS JOPLIN, JOHN LENNON and GEORGE HARRISON, and created the Southern blues-rock band DELANEY & BONNIE & FRIENDS in 1969.
