The FCC has closed its probe into allegations that DOUBLE O BROADCASTING interfered with CLEAR CHANNEL's Country WPAP/PANAMA CITY, FL on JULY 10, 2005 while the station was trying to broadcast emergency information about the approaching HURRICANE DENNIS.
The PANAMA CITY NEWS HERALD reports that the FCC sent a letter to DOUBLE O closing the investigation but noting that the action should not be construed "as a determination that a violation did not occur." CLEAR CHANNEL had complained that an unlicensed transmitter at DOUBLE O's operation running at 250 watts on WPAP's 92.5 frequency jammed the station's signal to several thousand listeners.
