Former Station Owner, TV Anchor Charles Herring Dies

Condolences to family and friends of SEATTLE TV news pioneer and former KAPY-A/PORT ANGELES< WA owner CHARLES HERRING, who died last MONDAY (1/23) of cancer at 83, according to the SEATTLE TIMES.
HERRING was SEATTLE's pioneer live-TV news anchor at KING-TV starting in 1951 and worked there for 16 years before buying KAPY, which he and his late wife MARY BEMUS owned from 1967 through 1978. He later worked as a video producer for BOEING and retired in 1987.
