Following CUMULUS MEDIA's decision (NET NEWS 1/23) not to report "music adds" to trade publications, R&R has suspended reporting status for the chain, including monitored and non-monitored "Indicator" panel stations.
In a letter to CUMULUS stations, R&R said, "that over the next two weeks, R&R will be examining its entire reporting process. We will be talking with Radio and Record executives, many from your company, as we evaluate all of our policies to insure they reflect today's radio and records practices. Following the review, it is entirely possible that the monitored CUMULUS stations could be reinstated. "
Naturally, this affected the R&R airplay charts, so MEDIABASE noted, "This SUNDAY's charts will be calculated by removing the airplay from Cumulus stations for both last week and this week's charts, in order to provide an equal reporting panel between the two weeks."
MEDIABASE has also noted on its site that it still carries airplay data for all CUMULUS stations under the "MEDIABASE-ALL, US Charts" panel. ALL ACCESS continues to carry CUMULUS airplay information as well in in its abbreviated MEDIABASE airplay data.
