FCC FM Auction Ends, 163 CPs Awarded

96 bidders took home 163 construction permits as the FCC's FM Auction 62 ended TUESDAY, netting the COmmission $54,259,600. from gross bids of $70,122,000. A Class A permit for INDIAN WELLS (PALM SPRINGS), CA pulled in the highest gross bid, $6,657,000. from A&J MEDIA, followed by the permit for SATELLITE BEACH (MELBOURNE), FL at $5,251,000. from HORTON BROADCASTING CORP. ACE RADIO CORP. led all bidders with twelve provisional winning bids, ahead of WHITE PARK BROADCASTING's ten and TOWER INVERSTMENT TRUST's nine; based on net bod amounts, HORTON and A&J led the way.
