FCC Upholds RF Radiation Fine Against WQYK/Tampa

The FCC has denied CBS RADIO's application for review of a $10,000 fine against its Country WQYK-F/TAMPA for RF radiation violations.

The fine was levied against the station's then-licensee INFINITY after 2004 and 2005 inspections at its PARK TOWER transmitter, where measurements were found to exceed RF radiation limits without proper warning signs. Most of the radiation was emanating from a co-located LPTV, but WQYK contributed 5% of the radiation and had not posted proper warning signs.
