Congratulations are in order for LYRIC STREET RECORDS VP/National Promotion KEVIN HERRING, VP/Radio Marketing KEVIN HERRING and the rest of the staff as RASCAL FLATTS' new album, "Unstoppable," tops the NIELSEN SOUNDSCAN Top 200 all-genre albums chart this week. The album sold a whopping 351,000 units in its first week of release.
This is the group's fourth consecutive studio album to open at #1 in the all-genre Top 200, more than any other Country artist in the history of SOUNDSCAN. It's also their fourth consecutive debut on top of the NIELSEN SOUNDSCAN Country Top 75 sales chart.
"Unstoppable" is the biggest Country release of 2009 so far, and has the biggest Country first-week sales since BIG MACHINE star TAYLOR SWIFT's "Fearless" in NOVEMBER 2008. The six-figure total also puts RASCAL FLATTS behind U2's "No Line On The Horizon" as the second biggest unit debut of the year for all genres.
A big congrats also goes out to BBR/NASHVILLE's JASON ALDEAN for another six-figure Country sales debut for his new album, "Wide Open." JASON's CD sold 108,960 copies last week, landing him the #4 spot in the Top 200 and the #2 Country album of the week.
