Iranian-American reporter ROXANA SABERI, who has worked with NPR, the BBC, ABC NEWS, and other international media outlets, is in "bad condition" after a week of a hunger strike in a TEHRAN jail, according to her father. REZA SABERI told reporters MONDAY that he and wife AKIKO visited their daughter SUNDAY for her 32nd birthday and called her "very, very weak and frail," saying she "can hardly stand up. I'm Worried about her health. I'm worried about her life."
ROXANA SABERI was sentenced to eight years in prison for espionage in a secret trial that drew international criticism. SABERI is a native of NEW JERSEY who grew up in FARGO, ND and has recently been reporting in IRAN.
