MerleFest 2009 Draws In Over 70,000 Fans

Over 70,000 Fans Attended

More than 70,000 fans filled the campus of WILKES COMMUNITY COLLEGE in WILKESBORO, NC from THURSDAY-SUNDAY (4/23-4-26) for MERLEFEST 2009. 

Over 95 artists performed on 15 stages throughout the four days of the 22nd annual event, including TRAVIS TRITT with JERRY DOUGLAS, EMMYLOU HARRIS, The GRASCALS, DAILEY & VINCENT, The DEL McCOURY BAND, DOC & RICHARD WATSON, The STEELDRIVERS and more.

THURSDAY's (4/23) attendance was the 5th highest on a THURSDAY in the festival's history. On FRIDAY (4/24), MERLEFEST experienced the 4th highest FRIDAY attendance, and SATURDAY's (4/25) numbers were on par with last year's SATURDAY total. SUNDAY's (4/26) numbers have not yet been released.
