Stern Prankster 'Captain Janks' Jailed

The BUCKS COUNTY COURIER TIMES is reporting that HOWARD STERN "wack packer" and veteran phone prankster TOM "CAPTAIN JANKS" CIPRIANO has been jailed for failing to show up for comedy appearances at clubs in BUCKS and MONTGOMERY COUNTIES, PA after taking advances from the clubs.

CIPRIANO, a NORTH WALES, PA resident, was jailed in MONTGOMERY COUNTY prison last THURSDAY on $2,500 bail and remained there as of YESTERDAY. He has been accused of taking $350 advances from the INDIAN ROCK INN in NOCKAMIXON, PA and the OLD MANSION HOUSE BAR AND GRILL in PLYMOUTH, PA, cashing the checks, and then failing to show up for the shows. Two other clubs have also accused CIPRIANO of the same act.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for THURSDAY in CONSHOHOCKEN District Court; CIPRIANO, known for his prank calls to news organizations during live television coverage of breaking news, is also scheduled for a MAY 4th hearing in OTTSVILLE, PA district court.
