The WHITE HOUSE has made official what ALL ACCESS and others reported previously and said FRIDAY that President BUSH will nominate COMPTEL SVP/Asst. General Counsel ROBERT MCDOWELL for the final open seat on the FCC. If confirmed, MCDOWELL would bring the Commission back to full strength (it has been split 2-2 between Democrats and Republicans for much of the past year).
About the nomination, FCC Chairman KEVIN MARTIn said “If confirmed, ROB MCDOWELL will be a great asset to the Commission. He has a wealth of knowledge in the communications arena, and we will rely on his insight when evaluating the issues before us. I look forward to working with a full complement of Commissioners should Mr. MCDOWELL be confirmed.”
MCDOWELL's nomination is for a seat that expires JUNE 30, 2009.
