ALL ACCESS sends condolences to the family and friends of LOUISE SCRUGGS who passed away yesterday (2/2) at a NASHVILLE area hospital at the age of 78. In addition to being the wife of Bluegrass legend EARL SCRUGGS, LOUISE was the first female music manager in NASHVILLE. She helped create and shape the Bluegrass boom of the 1950s and 60s by booking acts for FLATTS & SCRUGGS and seeing to it that they were exposed to more than just traditional Bluegrass audiences. She was instrumental in securing the duo's performance of the title song to the hit series "The Beverly Hillbilly's" as well as their many appearances on the show.
Visitation for Mrs. SCRUGGS will be held tomorrow (2/4) from 4-7p (CT) and SUNDAY (2/5) from 2-5p (CT) at the SPRING HILL FUNERAL HOME. A funeral service will be held on MONDAY (2/6) at 11a (CT) at the RYMAN. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM.
