Condolences to family and friends of actor AL LEWIS, who died after a long illness in NEW YORK at 95.
LEWIS, best known as "GRANDPA" on 1960's CBS sitcom "THE MUNSTERS" and "Officer LEO SCHNAUZER" on earlier sitcom "CAR 54, WHERE ARE YOU," hosted a weekly show on PACIFICA noncommercial WBAI/NEW YORK until shortly before his death. He was also known for frequent appearances on HOWARD STERN's syndicated show in the 80's and 90's, including leading an infamous "F--k the FCC" chant at STERN's live on-air rally across from the UNITED NATIONS. He also ran for governor at the age of 89, was a noted basketball scout, and operated a restaurant.
