Condolences to family and friends of former WQAM-A/MIAMI sportscaster KEN MALDEN, who died MAY 1st in hospice after a battle with lung cancer discovered after he broke his hip last month, according to the MIAMI HERALD.
MALDEN, 83, came to MIAMI in 1959 from WBMS-A (WILD-A)/BOSTON as a personality and, later, PD and nightly sports talk host at WGBS-A (now WAQI-A), served as Dir. of Communications for the BISCAYNE KENNEL CLUB dog track, and later joined WQAM in 1996 as a host and sports anchor until he was let go earlier this year.
