RADIO ONE Top 40 WNOU (RadioNOW 100.9)/INDIANAPOLIS today announced the appointment of RIGGS as APD/Imaging/nights, effective MAY 26th. RIGGS previously programmed WYKS/GAINESVILLE and WKXJ/CHATTANOOGA.
This is a homecoming for RIGGS, an INDY native, who worked on WNOU in 2000. He replaces AUSTIN, who left earlier this year to do mornings at WJFX/FORT WAYNE. "I went through over 300 applicants, and RIGGS gets it. He gets the RadioNOW brand. With that and his witty personality, I’m sure he’ll have no problem doing a show and washing my car," PD TIM RAINEY said.
In other station news, WNOU recently concluded its 2nd PRINCIPAL FOR A DAY text in to win school spirit promotion, with FALL OUT BOY becoming the principal for the day at GREENFIELD CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL. Over 2.4 million text messages were sent, with over 300,000 coming from the winning school. FALL OUT BOY gave an exclusive press conference for a select number of students before PETE WENTZ crashed some classrooms with detention slips. The band performed later that night at THE LAWN at WHITE RIVER STATE PARK.
Heading into INDIANAPOLIS’ biggest weekend of the year, RADIONOW 100.9 presented the COKE ZERO MUSIC FEST show on SATURDAY at the INDIANAPOLIS MOTOR SPEEDWAY with a live performance from PLAIN WHITE T’S and local band, THE POST SCRIPT, which won WNOU’s BREAKOUT BAND text contest. The show is one of the most-attended events at the SPEEDWAY, held the weekend before the INDIANAPOLIS 500.
