Top 40 BBC RADIO ONE has been censured by OFCOM for airing parody ads for sex chat lines that turned out to be promos for the station's "SUNDAY SURGERY" advice show.
The promos offered "dirty hot babes all over the UK looking for you to make their body rock" and asked "are you open enough to take part in a two hour live sex marathon?" (the show); OFCOM called the spots "totally inappropriate" and a "misjudgement." The regulator said that the promos, which were tailored to sound like pirate transmissions breaking into the regular signal and drew 14 listener complaints to OFCOM, were inappropriate for young children.
