Emmylou Harris To Receive Leadership Music's Highest Honor

LEADERSHIP MUSIC/NASHVILLE announces that EMMYLOU HARRIS will be the 2006 recipient of the DALE FRANKLIN LEADERSHIP AWARD. The honor recognizes a music industry insider who exemplifies leadership to the highest quality. Past winner include WSIX/NASHVILLE morning man GERRY HOUSE and UNIVERSAL SOUTH Co-Partner/Producer TONY BROWN.
In addition to her amazing career and groundbreaking work as a musical artist, HARRIS is a longtime social activist. She lends her voice, time and talent to a handful of cultural organizations, including the GRAND OLE OPRY, the COUNTRY MUSIC FOUNDATION, the HUMANE SOCIETY and PETA. Since 1997 she has been one of the most vocal activists for the CAMPAIGN FOR A LANDMINE FREE WORLD.
The award will be presented during a banquet on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 19 at NASHVILLE's new SCHERMERHORN SYMPHONY CENTER.
