CENTRAL FLORIDA EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION Christian AC WPOZ (Z88.3)/ORLANDO and GET HEALTHY FLORIDA wrapped up their year-long initiative “PROJECT PRESSURE” on SATURDAY, MAY 23rd. The goal of “PROJECT PRESSURE” was to encourage CENTRAL FLORIDA residents to “know their numbers” by getting free blood pressure screenings.
The free wrap-up event included a live performance from SPARROW RECORDS artist MANDISA and a GUINNESS BOOK WORLD RECORD for the most blood pressure screenings taken in a single day. Just over 2,000 blood pressures were taken in eight hours to beat the previous record set in JAPAN. Nearly 700 of those screened had elevated numbers and did not realize it.
“That is the exact reason we want people to get checked. There are no symptoms for high blood pressure but it can lead to many major health issues. PROJECT PRESSURE has been a great opportunity for us to serve and educate our community,” said Morning Co-host TYLER McKENZIE.
