A suspicious package found in the mailroom at CLEAR CHANNEL/SOUTH FLORIDA, came less than a day after someone phoned in a ''general threat'' to the stations, according to police, as reported by the MIAMI HERALD, and that prompted a complete evacuation of the building from 10:30a until roughly 3:30p as the police, bomb squad and dogs, hazmat crews and a number of federal authorities merged onto the scene for a major inspection.
The package raised suspicions because it was addressed ''to a person who typically doesn't get a package of that size,'' according to a police spokesperson.
While the building was emptied authorities ruled out that it contained some of Y100 morning man FOOTY's old sweatsocks. Turns out it was a package of copy toner. The bomb squad dogs picked up on the nitrates in the cartridges. For more details and slideshow of the drama, just click here.
