Comment Date Set For FCC HD Radio Power Boost Proposal

Publishes HD Power Increase Docket

The FCC's docket on increasing maximum power for HD RADIO stations from the present 1% of analog power to 10% of analog power has been published in the FEDERAL REGISTER, which sets the due date for comments as JULY 6th. 

Reply comments are due on or before JULY 17th in the docket, which is MM Docket No. 99-325.

HD Emergency Alert Services Tested

SPECTRAREP LLC, iBIQUITY DIGITAL and SAGE ALERTING SYSTEMS have joined forces to develop emergency alert services -– safety and security notification and other homeland security services -– using HD RADIO technology. The companies will leverage iBIQUITY's expertise in digital radio broadcasting, SPECTRAREP's technologies for emergency notification and public safety information, and SAGE’s experience with the Emergency Alert System in the broadcast industry.
