FRENCH courts have ruled that using P2P services is legal, providing you are doing so for personal rather than commercial reasons, reports THE REGISTER. The decision, which was actually made in DECEMBER and is only being released now, comes just as the country's Parliament meets to discuss whether internet users should pay a voluntary tax or surcharge of $5 a month to use P2P networks.
