ESSENTIAL RECORDS band THIRD DAY has been selected as a new inductee into the GEORGIA MUSIC HALL OF FAME. The 31ST ANNUAL GEORGIA MUSIC HALL OF FAME AWARDS SHOW will take place on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19th, 2009, at the GEORGIA WORLD CONFERENCE CENTER in ATLANTA and will be broadcast live on GEORGIA PUBLIC BROADCASTING locally on ATLANTA's Channel 8.
“This is a very special honor for THIRD DAY because we are all GEORGIA boys thru-and-thru and have a sound with GEORGIA inspired roots. It is one of the biggest highlights of our career to be recognized by an organization which acknowledges such a diverse and talented group of people," said THIRD DAY frontman MAC POWELL.
Other honorees to be inducted include COLLECTIVE SOUL, music promoter PETER CONLON, songwriter BRYAN-MICHAEL COX, music industry pioneer JOHNNY L. CARSON, late singer/songwriter ROY HAMILTON, late record executive SHAKIR STEWART and late bass guitarist BERRY OAKLEY.
In order to be nominated for this “GEORGY AWARD,” an artist must be born in or reside in GEORGIA for at least one year and receive a state of national acclaim for achievements in the field of recorded music.
