GREG HARRINGTON is out after 12 years and DAVID AHLERS is taking over as radio voice of UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA-OMAHA hockey this FALL, and Associate Athletic Director and former UNO coach MIKE KEMP tells the OMAHA WORLD-HERALD that the decision was "made administratively based on our expenses.... We already have someone on staff who has the broadcast background,”
KEMP said. “We were sending a (graduate assistant) sports information director and a play-by-play man on the road, and we were bringing him in from out-of-town, so it just made sense to combine them."
The MAVERICKS will be heard on the school's noncommercial Classical KVNO/OMAHA this season.
