Amidst rumors that the company plans to sell its DALLAS cluster, ENTRAVISION is buying presently-silent KBOC/BRIDGEPORT, TX from NORTH TEXAS RADIO GROUP for $16.6 million, of which $3,876,868.40 has been advanced to the sellers and against which a total of $910,000. in credits are being applied for not buying four stations originally included and for reduced expenses.
The deal is a successor to a 1999 contract held by ENTRAVISION predecessor Z-SPANISH MEDIA to buy an upgraded KBOC. KBOC went silent in NOVEMBER and had programmed Country before that; the new facility will broadcast from a tower northwest of DENTON. An application for a new CP for the CLass C operation was filed in JANUARY.
