BIG MACHINE RECORDS/NASHVILLE Pres. SCOTT BORCHETTA has announced that Promo veteran BOBBY YOUNG will be joining the label as Southeast Promotion & Marketing rep. Additionally, it's been announced that West Coast promo duties will be handled by former radio programmer RICK BARKER, and the Promotions Coordinator position will be manned by another radio veteran, JAYME AUSTIN.
BOBBY YOUNG's career in NASHVILLE includes stints as VP/Promotion for MERCURY, RIVER NORTH and JEFF McCLUSKEY & ASSOCIATES. Most recently, YOUNG was a partner in the independent promotion firm of YOUNG-OLSEN & ASSOCIATES.
RICK BARKER, a 15-year radio vet, was most recently PD/morning personality at Country KRAZ/SANTA BARBARA.
JAYME AUSTIN, rounding out the crew (for now), spent 11 years in Country radio, including WSIX/NASHVILLE and WSM-F/NASHVILLE. AUSTIN most recently served as Broadcast Manager at NASHVILLE's EMERALD STUDIOS.
BORCHETTA has already announced that JACK PURCELL, former VP/Promo at WARNER BROS., will be BIG MACHINE's VP/Promotion, and that MANDY McCORMICK, formerly at VIVATON, will be in the Midwest, while JOHN ZARLING, formerly of UMG/NASHVILLE, will oversee Nat'l Promotion & New Media.
