ARBITRON announces a multi-year contract agreement with MPG, the media buying and planning unit of global marketing communications company HAVAS, for its PORTABLE PEOPLE METER (PPM).
MPG EVP/Managing Director PHYLISS MAGUIRE said, "It’s time for the radio industry to embrace the PPM so that it can be more accountable to advertisers. We’re ready to work with radio broadcasters to help stations transition to PORTABLE PEOPLE METER measurement."
"Advertisers and agencies recognize that PPM measurement is imperative for radio," said ARBITRON President, Sales And Marketing PIERRE BOUVARD. "As we get closer to a decision regarding the deployment of the PORTABLE PEOPLE METER in the U.S. media marketplace, broadcasters can be confident that their customers are ready, willing and able to accept PPM estimates as the coin of the realm."
