JOURNAL COMMUNICATIONS JANUARY operating revenue rose 9.5% to $35.8 million, thanks to the addition of three TV stations purchased from EMMIS on DECEMBER 5. Without the new stations, revenue fell 1.5%, blamed on flat ad sales and the shutdown of the company's NEW ORLEANS printing plant. Radio revenue fell 8.5% to $4.7 million, a drop ascribed to the GREEN BAY PACKERS failing to make the playoffs (the PACKERS air on JOURNAL's WTMJ-A/MILWAUKEE).
