WBGG's Big Promotion Is A Gas

CLEAR CHANNEL Classic Rock WBGG (BIG 105.9)/MIAMI morning duo PAUL and YOUNG RON offered 10,000 gallons of free gasoline to listeners on last week's "Free Gas FRIDAY."Anyone who showed up in a working vehicle received $25 in gas.

According to the MIAMI HERALD, "Drivers trekked from as far away as MIAMI-DADE COUNTY and POMPANO BEACH to the PEMBROKE PINES gas station. At one point, the line stretched three-quarters of a mile on Pines Blvd. past empty TEXACO and 7-ELEVEN gas stations.

The entire promotion cost the station around $30,000 -- and another "Free Gas FRIDAY" is planned for a different station "at a secret location" in MIAMI-DADE COUNTY in two weeks.
