15 Staffers Laid Off With KFWB Flip Coming

The LOS ANGELES BUSINESS JOURNAL, citing information provided by AFTRA, reports that 15 staff members at CBS RADIO News KFWB-A/LOS ANGELES have been laid off, 14 on FRIDAY (8/21), with the impending flip to News-Talk.

AFTRA National Director of Communications CHRISTOPHER DE HAAN told the paper that the union was notified FRIDAY morning of the 14 layoffs and had been notified earlier in the week of another layoff.

"I tried to be with our program director and our other people today when we gave them the news," SVP/Market Manager ED KRAMPF told the BUSINESS JOURNAL, "and the people we have spoken with appear to appreciate the personal respect and consideration we have tried to show them."
