Jones Named PD At WDET/Detroit

Former CHICAGO PUBLIC RADIO noncommercial WBEZ/CHICAGO VP/Programming RON JONES has been named PD at DETROIT PUBLIC RADIO noncommercial WDET/DETROIT. JONES, whose experience includes serving as PD at WGBH-F/BOSTON, KCUR/KANSAS CITY and KANU/LAWRENCE, KS and GM at WERS/BOSTON, will join WDET TUESDAY (9/8).
"I am very pleased to welcome RON JONES to WDET-FM," said GM J. MIKEL ELLCESSOR. "He is a seasoned, experienced professional with deep experience at major stations in large, diverse cities. He has been a part of public radio's national success story and he knows the power of non-commercial media.
