SACRAMENTO TV station FOX 40 swears "It's not a promotions stunt," reporting that ENTERCOM Top 40 KDND (THE END) "will be making a change this upcoming TUESDAY. ALL ACCESS hipped you to the current stunting on the station YESTERDAY (NET NEWS 9/3).
FOX 40 News "confirmed with a source at the station that KDND will be shifting directions starting on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8th at 7:10a. It's unclear whether the station will change formats, talents or branding."
The timing of the "change" coincides with the beginning of a civil lawsuit as ENTERCOM will be the defendant in a trial regarding the death of JENNIFER STRANGE in the infamous "Hold Your Wee For A Wii" contest in 2007.
FOX 40 notes "If KDND changes formats TUESDAY, it would mark the second radio station to change formats under ENTERCOM's control in SACRAMENTO. Sister station KWOD switched from an alternative music format to the country's first "All 90's" music format in MAY. The station opted for full automation in place of on-air talent following the format flip."
