Veteran sportscaster BONNIE BERNSTEIN is joining ESPN Sports WEPN-A (1050 ESPN)/NEW YORK as part of MICHAEL KAY's afternoon show, starting MONDAY (9/14). BERNSTEIN joins KAY, co-host DON LA GRECA, and Creative Director JOEY SALVIA on the show and will also contribute original content to the station’s website, 1050espn.com, and the company’s expanded local site, ESPNNEWYORK.COM, which launches in first quarter 2010.
BERNSTEIN, who has been hosting several shows for ESPN and ABC and previously spent eight years as lead reporter for the NFL and NCAA man's basketball tournament at CBS SPORTS, is in her second stint with ESPN, having worked for the network before her run at CBS. PD AARON SPIELBERG said, "I’m thrilled to add BONNIE to 1050 ESPN’s lineup. Her journalistic background will complement the credibility that MICHAEL KAY and DON LA GRECA have established on THE MICHAEL KAY SHOW and add depth to the station’s afternoon presentation."
KAY added, "BONNIE will be great on the show. She has the right combination of serious sports knowledge and razor sharp wit to fit right in with the group. I know the listeners will embrace her as the newest member of the TMKS family."
