Condolences to family and friends of former longtime WEEB-A/SOUTHERN PINES, NC co-owner ELIZABETH YOUNTS, who died SEPTEMBER 2nd at 89, according to the SOUTHERN PINES PILOT. YOUNTS and her husband JACK SPURGEON YOUNTS launched WEEB in 1947 and owned it through 1982. She was also a keyboard player who appeared on ARTHUR GODFREY's CBS radio show and served as a staff organist and pianist for ABC and NBC radio.
Among YOUNTS' survivors is her son MITT YOUNTS, the former station owner and broker who more recently has served as president of mobile marketing company BUZZTXT.
