One of the hallmarks of the Triple A format is its dedication to the community and one of the ways it benefits local charities is through the sales of live-performance CDs. A few are already in the works:
CUMULUS Triple A KFOG/SAN FRANCISCO’s "Local Scene 6" CD is now out, featuring the best bands and singer/songwriters emerging from the NORTHERN CALIFORNIA music scene. The sale of the CD benefits MUSIC IN SCHOOLS TODAY.
CLEAR CHANNEL Triple A KTCZ (CITIES 97)/MINNEAPOLIS is prepping the "Hope Rocks II" CD, which will be released SEPTEMBER 26th and available via local TARGET stores. The compilation CD features some of the TWIN CITIES’ hottest bands and solo artists created especially to benefit FAITH’S LODGE, which is a facility for parents and families in need of hope and healing. The station will hold a CD release party in Minneapolis featuring live music by the BODEANS and KERI NOBLE. In related news, the popular "Cities 97 Sampler Vol. 21" will be released on NOVEMBER 19th. It will benefit yet-to-be-named charities.
ENTERCOM Triple A KMTT (THE MOUNTAIN)/SEATTLE's "Live From The Mountain Music Lounge Vol. 15" goes on sale at WESTERN WASHINGTON STARBUCKS locations on SEPTEMBER 29th. Proceeds from the sales of the CD will benefit the WILDERNESS SOCIETY.
