DIAL GLOBAL and CBS RADIO Talk WPHT-A/PHILADELPHIA host MICHAEL SMERCONISH's new book, "INSTINCT: THE MAN WHO STOPPED THE 20TH HIJACKER," is being published by THE LYONS PRESS TOMORROW (9/11), and the book will be given to everyone on board when SMERCONISH and listeners go on their third annual bus trip to the site of the crash of Flight 93 in SHANKSVILLE, in rural western PENNSYLVANIA. All author proceeds of the book, written with KURT A. SCHREYER, will be donated towards the building of the FLIGHT 93 NATIONAL MEMORIAL.
Joining SMERCONISH and the listeners for the trip will be JOSE MELENDEZ-PEREZ, the immigration officer who is the subject of SMERCONISH's book. MELENDEZ-PEREZ stopped MOHAMMED AL-KAHTANI before AL-KAHTANI could be the fifth hijacker on Flight 93, a move that may have prevented the hijackers from being successful in their plan to fly the plane into the WHITE HOUSE or U.S. CAPITOL.
SMERCONISH devoted his column in today's PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS to MELENDEZ-PEREZ's story; read the column by clicking here. And the book can be purchased at all major bookstores and through AMAZON.COM.
