WQXR, WCAA Swap Set For October 8th

With the FCC's approval of the three-way deal that will result in a frequency swap for Classical WQXR and Tropical WCAA (LA KALLE)/NEW YORK, the date for the big switch is now set for OCTOBER 8th. 

UNIVISION is buying the 96.3 FM facility of WQXR from the NEW YORK TIMES and will move the WCAA format from 105.9 FM on that day; at the same time, noncommercial WQXR-A-F will take over the 105.9 FM frequency and will install the calls and Classical format of WQXR there at 8p ET on the 8th with a live broadcast from CARNEGIE HALL, simulcast on WNYC-F.
