TODAY (9/11) marks the eighth anniversary of the SEPTEMBER 11th, 2001 attacks, and across the country people are commemorating the day with memorial services, volunteerism and flags flown at half-staff.
President BARACK OBAMA has declared it an annual day of "service and remembrance."
Nearly 3,000 people were killed when terrorists hijacked planes and flew them into the WORLD TRADE CENTER in NEW YORK and THE PENTAGON outside of WASHINGTON, D.C. A fourth jet crashed in SHANKSVILLE, PA.
