CLEAR CHANNEL Alternative KYSR (98-7FM)/LOS ANGELES is teaming up with FUELED BY RAMEN recording artist, PARAMORE, and taking part in 9/11 DAY OF SERVICE AND REMEMBRANCE by encouraging listeners to commemorate this day and become personally involved in recovery and renewal by serving within our own communities.
98-7FM issued the following challenge: Join the "UNITED WE SERVE" MOVEMENT, an ongoing national initiative to address local needs and qualify to win passes to a private celebration/performance by PARAMORE in a secret undisclosed location on OCTOBER 1st.
KYSR PD JULIE PILAT said, "It’s easier than you think to make a real difference and aid recovery in your community. Everyone has value and everyone can give back if we maximize our resources. We’re taking the lead in encouraging people to get with their friends doing something they love as a team (as is the spirit behind the 'UNITED WE SERVE' movement) because it’s not only more fun, but builds bonds and strengthens personal relationships too. Whether it’s surfing with inner city kids or painting in Downtown L.A.’s Arts District, 10 friends, each giving an hour, can add up incredibly fast.
"It’s easy to get buried in e-mails at the office but I know every time I get out in the community and volunteer at A PLACE CALLED HOME IN SOUTH L.A. I am energized, more creative, and in tune with L.A. The spirit of community has always been strong in music. I love the fact that we can partner with a band like PARAMORE, who sees the value of this movement as we do, and is willing and excited to celebrate the SO-CAL rockers who sign up with us."
