  PAUL ALLEN is putting the SPORTING NEWS and SPORTING NEWS RADIO up for sale, according to a report in TUESDAY's NEW YORK TIMES.
  ALLEN bought the magazine from TIMES MIRROR for over $100 million six years ago and later bought the ONE-ON-ONE SPORTS radio network, which became SPORTING NEWS RADIO, and added O&Os WSNR-A/NEW YORK, WWZN-A/BOSTON, and KMPC-A (1540 THE TICKET)/LOS ANGELES. CEO RICK ALLEN told the TIMES that revenues have been "steady" but the company has not turned a profit.
