The television version of PUBLIC RADIO INTERNATIONAL's "THIS AMERICAN LIFE" is on hiatus, according to comments by host/creator IRA GLASS to flagship noncommercial WBEZ/CHICAGO.
The show has aired a TV edition on SHOWTIME for two seasons, but GLASS said, "Basically, the deal is that it's just a tremendous amount of work doing the radio show and the TV show." GLASS and the staff relocated to NEW YORK from CHICAGO to do the show, but he told WBEZ that he does not have immediate plans to move back to CHICAGO.
GLASS also told a panel at NEW YORK's 92ND STREET Y about the plans to end the TV show, according to FISHBOWLNY.
