BNA/NASHVILLE star KENNY CHESNEY closed out his "SUN CITY CARNIVAL TOUR" at LUCAS OIL STADIUM in INDIANAPOLIS on SATURDAY (9/19) to a sold-out crowd of 45,178 fans.
The ZAC BROWN BAND, SUGARLAND, MIRANDA LAMBERT and MONTGOMERY GENTRY were also on the bill as supporting acts. Some of the highlights included SUGARLAND's JENNIFER NETTLES joining CHESNEY for a rendition of "When The Sun Goes Down," LAMBERT appearing on stage during "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" and the ZAC BROWN BAND performing their take on ALABAMA's "Dixieland Delight" and STEVE MILLER's "Space Cowboy."
CHESNEY closed out his portion of the show with an acoustic performance of "Better As A Memory," as fans bid him farewell for the next year. CHESNEY announced last week that he'd be taking a break from touring next summer (NET NEWS 9/16). Following the show, he said: “It's hard to believe we're putting this thing up on blocks. The response from the fans, out in the crowd and the internet, it makes feel like people understand… and that they know we're not gone for good, it's just a breather."
CHESNEY will be a part of the HARD ROCK CAFE's AMBASSADORS OF ROCK next year and will continue working a new album to be released next spring. Click here for a review of the show from the INDIANAPOLIS STAR.
