Clay Collins Returns To Radio

DAYTON BROADCASTERS Hall of Famer CLAY "THE COOKER" COLLINS is coming out of retirement to do 9a-noon on DAYTON PUBLIC SCHOOL Noncomn JAZZ WDPS/DAYTON. The 74-year-old gets back in the booth on OCT 1st.

"People kept telling me there’s no jazz on the radio they can relate to,” COLLINS told the DAYTON DAILY NEWS. "I'm still breathing, so decided to give it a another shot ... Retirement was good for about a week. I've been working since I was a 12-year-old paperboy in CHICAGO. I didn't know what to do with myself, so I jumped at the chance to come back."
