As reported in the BOSTON GLOBE TODAY, WGBH EDUCATIONAL BROADCASTING public radio/TV combo WGBH is making the move to purchase NAUSSAU BROADCASTING Classical WCRB. The paper says that, if approved by the FCC, WGBH would move its own Classical programming from WGBH (at 90.9) to the WCRB (at 99.5) and replace it with news and talk.

The $14 million deal would end up converting WCRB from a commercial operation to a noncommercial one. WGBH’s website is already accepting donations to help pay for the purchase.
