A report issued by GROUPM claims online advertising will account for 13% of ad spending around the world. The figure is expected to rise to 15%, or around $65 billion, in 2010. In the U.S., digital advertising will rise from 15.4% of total ad spend this year to 17% ($24.5 billion) next year, reports BIZREPORT.COM.
The GROUPM study, called "Interaction," writes that the growth in global ad spending is being driven by spending both on the web and on mobile -- coupled with an ongoing decline in spending with traditional media.
"TODAY, search remains a key driver of digital marketing as advertisers compete to capture a disproportionate share that search behavior represents," said GROUPM INTERACTION CEO ROB NORMAN.
