The NATIONAL ASSOCIATION Of BLACK OWNED BROADCASTERS (NABOB) held its 33rd annual Fall Management Conference in WASHINGTON at THE MADISON HOTEL THURSDAY and FRIDAY. Several key issues were discussed, including No Urban Dictates, Why Agencies Believe In The Power of Urban Radio, an update on ARBITRON's PPM and Financing.
Two members of the FCC were present. FCC COMMISSIONER ROBERT McDOWELL addressed diversity issues THURDAY while FRIDAY newly appointed FCC CHAIRMAN JULIUS GENECHOWSKI focused on new rules that are legally sustainable and will create a culture in which no-Urban/Hispanic dictates can exist.
