Beck Receives Key To Hometown

Amidst a crowd of fans and protestors, GLENN BECK received the key to his hometown of MOUNT VERNON, WA SATURDAY evening.  BECK received a standing ovation at the event, telling the audience, "My sense of community, my sense of real help, helping each other, came from growing up in MOUNT VERNON."  His speech included reminiscing about his childhood in the town ("a magical place") and how it reinforces his belief in "NORMAN ROCKWELL's AMERICA."

Hundreds of protestors, both pro- and anti-BECK, milled outside the auditorium, while almost 700 fans heard the speech inside. The event followed a separate appearance at the SEATTLE MARINERS' home, SAFECO FIELD, earlier in the day.
