CMT scored its highest-rated third quarter ever, with double-digit ratings increases across the board, in total day and primetime, during its "Summer Of Music" programming. The network also garnered a +23% ratings jump during the hours they aired music videos, according to NEILSEN MEDIA RESEARCH.
CMT President BRIAN PHILIPS said: “2009 has been a charmed year for CMT. All shows and all dayparts have connected, combining to produce our fourth consecutive quarter of growth. We hope this upward trajectory predicts increasing success for the music community, and an especially strong holiday season.”
Music videos will take center stage this weekend (10/2-10/4), with the launch of CMT's first "Big New Music Weekend." Nine new videos from artists like KENNY CHESNEY, CARRIE UNDERWOOD, TIM McGRAW, KEITH URBAN, SUGARLAND and more, will make their debuts on CMT, CMT PURE and www.CMT.com beginning FRIDAY (10/2).
