"A school assembly gone bad," is what the local media is calling a speaking engagement by singer DARON NORWOOD at PANHANDLE HIGH SCHOOL, in PANHANDLE, TX.
NORWOOD, whose Country singles include "Cowboys Don't Cry", was accused by school officials, of frightening PANHANDLE, TX students during the SEPTEMBER 22 appearance at the school. Originally, NORWOOD was booked to speak to the students on the dangers of drug abuse.
NORWOOD told local TV station KWES: “The situation in PANHANDLE is very damaging to my soul. It cost me. It cost me with GOD, because I made him a promise I’d do my best for him.”
Attendees told KWES that NORWOOD spent nearly two hours shouting at students and faculty, running around the gym, using inappropriate language, playing music and that he barely spoke on the subject of drug abuse. A teacher finally pulled a fire alarm to get students out of the gym, and police were called to ask him to leave the school.
