KZRQ Flips To Variety Hits 'River'

JOURNAL BROADCAST Group flipped Rock KZRQ/SPRINGFIELD, MO Variety Hits "THE RIVER." The format change is designed to appeal to listeners who want hits in a wide range of music genres and artists from the past five decades without annoying DJ chatter and many interruptions.
JOURNAL/SPRINGFIELD, MO OM VALORIES KNIGHT will also serve as PD for THE RIVER. SIMON NYTES, the previous PD for KZRQ, assumes KNIGHT’s former duties as PD of Top 40/Rhythmic sister KSPW (Power 96.5).
"With a library of more than 2,000 songs, The New 106.7 THE RIVER now provides real music variety unlike any other station in the market," JOURNAL/SPRINGFIELD VP/GM REX HANSEN said. "We're confident listeners and advertisers will appreciate and enjoy the variety offered on the station.”
"We're really excited about the new format," KNIGHT added, "It’s new to our area, and we're thrilled that we're able to bring it to our community. We know it’s going to be a big ‘hit’ with listeners and advertisers."
