Benson To Step Down At CMA

The TENNESSEAN is reporting this morning (9/21) that ED BENSON, Exec Dir. of the CMA (COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION), is expected to bow out of his position. According to the story, BENSON, who has led the organization since 1992, will ease into retirement over the next, "few years." Yesterday the CMA board members confirmed that BENSON will shift into a more strategic role, allowing Associate Dir. TAMMY GENOVESE to take over. GENOVESE was reportedly hand-picked by Benson to take the helm when he steps down.
